Join us for the third and final session in a three-part series with the National Fair Housing Alliance on advancing Black homeownership. This session builds on the first two sessions by providing a deep dive on geographic and residential preferences. Participants will have a chance to learn and ask questions about the fair housing implications of preference strategies that can mitigate gentrification and displacement and ensure housing stability and wealth building opportunities for long-time existing residents.
Habitat for Humanity International’s Advancing Black Homeownership initiative was launched in June 2022 as part of Habitat’s formal commitment to working to eliminate the racial homeownership gap. The Black homeownership rate in the US is the lowest of any racial group as a result of decades of discriminatory housing policies. Habitat is working closely with the National Fair Housing Alliance to ensure ABH strategies remain grounded in fair housing and fair lending.
