The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) and Enterprise Community Partners will co-host a forum on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon ET to examine the future of rental assistance in the face of the new Congress and incoming Administration.
More than any other time in recent history, this year’s presidential campaign made it clear — affordable housing is a priority for Americans. The last Trump Administration sought to sharply cut funding for rental assistance and dramatically raise rents for households, which would have impacted more than 8 million people, among them over 3 million children. As a new Administration and Congress prepare to take office, policymakers must recognize housing policy plays a critical role in ensuring people are economically secure and can build the life they want for themselves and their families.
